Kris Allen original. Possibly the most highly-anticipated song on the album. Produced by Mike Flynn & Warren Huart.

This is definitely the one most anticipated by me. I just want to hear another Kris Allen original. And hearing and watching him talk about how much it means to him makes me want to hear it so badly.

I will be curious to see if there are any BNS traces ;)

I'm excited for this song, not just because Kris wrote it, and I expect that just like some of the songs on BNS, it will be a very emotional song, but I'm also interested because Mike Flynn produced it. This is a regular Jive/Sony/19 producer, this man produced two albums for The Fray. I don't think he would have gotten involved if he didn't believe in the song.

Yes, and the way Kris tells the story in the LP interview, it sounds like the fact that Mike Flynn really liked it is what got the label to agree to let Kris record it for consideration. Kris also specifically mentioned (in a tweet maybe) in reference to working with Mike F. on this that it was great to work with someone who understood your vision for your song. So, yeah, lots to be excited about.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID:
Kris wrote it pre-Idol and says, "[it is] a song that I wrote like a year ago that I really love that we’re gonna really push for." He says it is "open to interpretation [...] I know what it means to me, but it might mean something else to you. [Mike Flynn] and I were working on the track last night. It was fun to be in the studio and working with a producer who sees your vision for a song you wrote." [Source: 10/7 Slezak interview]
Lyndsey says, it follows a "soft-verse/exploding-pop-chorus" formula and fits in with the rest of the album. [Source: Album Preview 10/21]

My predictions:
Kris wrote this song about Adam, clearly. Kradam is real.

I'm excited for Red Guitar, but I guess not as excited for it as everyone else is. Well at least we know it has a story behind it so I'll probably end up getting my heart pulled out every time I listen to it, somehow. (Sorry, just relistened to all of BNS today and oh man, I do love that CD)

According to Kris, the red guitar is a metaphor for his heart. (he mentioned this in a private fans event for a radio station)

taks, I did the same thing. I'm almost obsessed with BNS. I'm excited to hear Red Guitar, because I'd like to get an idea of how much Kris has grown as a songwriter since those days.
