The Krale song! I think this could be an older pre-Idol thing these two were working on, and they had the awesome luck of getting Elizondo's input on it (totally just theorizing here.)

I don't know. It sounded like Kris was saying that Cale pitched him the idea for the chorus after the show. Kris then worked on the verses when he was outside at Mike's house, then, played it for Mike, who then contributed somehow.

Cale was one of the songwriters for his band Latture, though. So, he has been writing music for a while.

Lulz, this is going to be the Plum Song in my mind, now!

ETA: Can I just say right now how much I like the look of those 3 names together?

This makes me so happy.
From the interview that we all read of Mike Elizondo, I got the impression that he doesn't just work with anyone. Kris seems to have connected with him to such a degree that Mike is one of the main producers on the album. I hope this continues and they work together in the future...maybe on Kris' second (yes, I am getting ahead of us here, but whatever) album he can have that one producer wish of his.

I thought the same! I'm just really excited to hear this song.

ETA: PATMEAL. Never stop flailing over Cale, please. It always brings a smile to my face. LOL.

I can totally see Allen/Mills becoming some sort of songwriting team ;)

Hazel, I second your wish for Mike producing Kris's 2nd album!

I also get the impression that Elizondo and Kris just "clicked" (which is something Elizondo mentioned as being very important to him in that interview you linked a while ago.) I thought they'd just worked together on that one song with Daughtry, but then all these co-writes came spilling out! I'm very happy about this.

I remember an interview Kris did not so long ago where he mentioned the Jon Foreman writing session he had tweeted about, and said that a "producer friend" of his had set it up. It clicked immediately with me that that must be Mike Elizondo. For one thing, he had tweeted that he had just worked with both, and also, I knew that Mike had produced Switchfoot's last album. So, it definitely does seem that Kris clicked with Mike, which, if you've read that long interview with him, is no surprise. I remember having read that and thinking that he and Kris were MADE to work together.

Anyway, yeah, it won't hurt Kris at all to have a "producer friend" like Mike Elizondo.

I'm getting all giddy thinking about the Allen/Mills writing team. This is the start of something beautiful, I can just see it.
