This poor neglected thread. I guess we're all a little sad that Kris struggled with his artistic expression against the label. I'm really really curious as to how explicit the lyrics are with this song pertaining to that struggle.

I'm expecting a very general sort of frustration. (I was trying not to litter EVERY song thread with my pathetic Saturday night thoughts ) And I totally think there will be a redemptive thread in the piece. An "it will all work out" sort of thing...

Joy is probably shaking her head with disapproval right now  , but I think that Rain is a play on "Reign". You know, the reign of the 19E machine over Kris or whatever. Although it's probably very subtle if Lyndsey Parker didn't pick up on it until Kris said something (resisting the urge to be catty, yes I am).

This song is one of the ones I really want to hear.

I'm dying to hear this one also. I mean, let's be fair. I'm dying to hear them all, but yeah, this one, I'm a little more anxious to hear than some others. Since Kris has clued us in to the fact that it deals with his frustrations with the label/management, I willl be interested in hearing these lyrics. And I just have to say that I love the fact that little, humble Kris Allen not only wrote a song about his frustrations with his label, but got said label to put it on his debut album. People shouldn't forget that little, humble Kris Allen is also balls of steel Kris Allen who broke the AI machine while TPTB wasn't even paying attention. Yeah, I'm interested in hearing this song.

I am interested in hearing this one too! I love your post, because this is how I feel. Isn't there a saying that "it is the quiet ones that you have to watch out for". I love the Balls of Steels quote, because he had to have them to come up with the song choices he did on the show. I hope he did the same on his album.

Yes, this! Exactly why I'm intrigued with this song already!

I wonder if Kris had to fight for this one to be on the album. If so, what did he say to explain it/defend it? He seemed to really enjoy working with Tobias. I can't wait to hear this song; I'll definitely agree with others who have said it's among the ones that pique the most interest.

I think the lyrics are going to be pretty general. Lyndsay didn't pick up on it although she may not have been paying attention. It's possible the label didn't really know the meaning behind the song in which case, the cats out of the bag now. I am looking forward to hearing this one though because it seems to be personal.
