Someone posted some lyrics by Jon Foreman on a board somewhere and I am really, really excited to hear this song. Because the guy is good.

I need to go look up some of them. The Switchfoot songs I have listened to are amazing lyrically. Kris did call him a "genius," and that blog of his that summerdaze? brought over was really interesting. He certainly has a way with words.

I'm having a lot of trouble feeling this one, so I'm hoping that getting the whole song will make a difference (ya think? LOL)

I agree I'll need to hear more of the melody, but the lyrics even in just the snippet are pretty heart-catching:

(totally ganking from Mer's twitter, lol)
It takes a lifetime getting it right
It takes a lifetime to learn how to say
To find my place in the world symphony
To become the melody
The man I know I could be
It takes a lifetime
I've been writing all these verbs down
and I don't know why

I'm going to love this one. First 30 seconds have brilliant lyrics, can not wait to see what the rest of this song sounds like.

Aack, now that I've listened to the clips pretty much all evening, I think this is the one song I don't like at all. (I'm still not a huge fan of "The Truth" or "Let it Rain," but I can still picture myself singing along to the choruses in those; this one, I already think I want to skip everytime it comes up on the iPod.) I know it's only 30-seconds worth, but I just keep having a negative reaction to it. And that makes me sad, because until now, I'd never encountered a Kris-song I didn't like on some level (I even like NB more than "Lifetime").

I think the lyrics of this one are really going to get me. I have a feeling the 30-second snippet doesn't do it justice because the song is going to tell a real lyrical story, and we just can't get that in 30 seconds. But, to me, I am predicting that this is going to be a very introspective song, and one that feels very Kris to me. I am looking forward to hearing the whole thing.

Just wanted to show some love to Lifetime too - I didn't realize it was the Jon Foreman song. No wonder I like it. I have a bunch of his tweets in my favorites, I like how he thinks. As for the song, it's very CW-ey, very One Tree Hill which is fine by me.
